Hint & Sadara Chemical Company celebrate collaboration during Economic Trade Mission

An economic mission to Texas, U.S., under the leadership of Prime Minister Mark Rutte of the Netherlands & Kris Peeters, Minister-President of the Flemish Government and Flemish Minister for Economy, Foreign Policy, Agriculture and Rural Policy, took place from July 6 – 9. The program included a network meeting with representatives from American companies in the oil & gas and petrochemical industries and a trade and investment dinner attended by Dutch and Flemish business delegations and more than a hundred American companies.

A highlight of the evening was when Mr. Wout Last, president of Hint, and Mr. Jim McIlvenny, deputy chairman of the Sadara Board of Directors, presided over a ceremony that celebrated an agreement for Hint to provide services to t Sadara Chemical Company (Sadara), a joint venture between Saudi Arabian Oil Company and The Dow Chemical Company. Sadara is constructing and will operate a fully integrated chemicals complex in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia which will be the largest chemical complex ever built in a single phase. Using quality measurement instrumentation (QMI) such as Analyzers, the Sadara complex will produce more than 3 million metric tons of high-value performance plastics and specialty chemical products capitalizing on rapidly growing markets in energy, transportation, infrastructure and consumer products. To manage the performance, availability and maintainability of the QMIs, Hint will deliver its solution ‘AML Analyzer Management’ (services and software).

After signing the contract for the Sadara Project in Houston the partnership between Dow Chemical and Hint was confirmed with a firm handshake. The progress of the mission offered good opportunities to network, to exchange knowledge and experience with U.S. organizations and with other experienced Dutch companies from the oil & gas and petrochemical industry.
